Ripstop

Ripstop is one of the woven fabrics’ weaving style, using a special reinforcing technique that makes fabric have better breaking strength and tearing strength. During weaving, thick reinforcement yarns are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern. Advantages of ripstop are the strength-to-weight ratio and that small tears can’t easily spread. Fibers used to make ripstop include cotton, polyester, nylon.

Anti-infrared

Anti-infrared function wave range generally refers to the near infrared (NIR), with a wavelength between 0.75 and 1.4 microns. With a fixed reflection range, the wearer can be integrated into the ground environment without being detected by the enemy’s night vision equipment. With the popularization of night vision equipment, the number of fighting at night is increasing. IRR fabric can effectively prevent being found and attacked by the enemy, increased the survival rate of soldiers.

Water repellent (WR)

Water repellent (WR), also known as water resistant. By adding auxiliaries to make the surface of the fabric has a very low surface tension. After the water drops fall, the tension on the surface of the fabric is very large, which promotes the shrinkage of the surface of the water droplets. It is spherical and cannot be spread out, so it quickly slips off the fabric in the form of water droplets. But after multiple washings, the effect of water repellent will decrease.

Waterproof

Waterproof refers to that water can’t penetrate through the fabric back side in specific pressure. Generally, it will coat PU or PVC coating on the chemical fabric backside to make the waterproof function. Some fabric will laminate Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrance to make it waterproof. This function usually won’t invalid by washing and long-term use.
